Trend and Epidemiological Analysis of Coronavirus in Nigeria

Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa and it’s among countries where novel corona virus highly endemic. World Health Organization listed other 13 African identified as high-risk for spread of virus. Hence need to observe six geopolitical zones Nigeria, study trend also look at some epidemiological measures based on case records adult patients above 16 years with Corona admitted between February 2020 2021. The research work tries analyze COVID-19 using Case Fatality Rate (CFR), Infection (IFR), Mortality (MR) Incidence (IR) death across Nigeria. analysis measure shows a wide variation CFR zones, an indication that it disproportionately affected states like Lagos Abuja which are affluent. result from IFR North-East has highest infection rate 4.88% while South-West least 1.53%. MR south west population recorded 11% south-East lowest rate. incidence was 2.3% 18.93%, studying this zone one can conclude occupation economic activities really influenced rates.
